In front of the viewer is one of two compositions with details of the Soviet orbital ship “Buran”. Canvases are written based on the direct experience of the author. To collect material, in the summer of 2019, Nastya Miro went to Kazakhstan. She spent several days in the desert near the Baikonur Cosmodrome, walked at a temperature of about 50 degrees (122 F) among poisonous snakes, scorpions, wild horses and camels, and yet she found a hangar where huge ships from the great Soviet space era have stood and rusted for many years. For the artist, this is a deeply personal and emotional project, a conversation about a legacy that we hopelessly lose.
